Ursus Maritime Capital works with ship owners and charterers of globally trading ships, to propose and install the most optimal mix of fuel efficiency retrofit solutions for each target vessel, based on its trading pattern, age, size, speed, and consumption.

The technologies used are the most widely accepted and tested solutions in the market, including, among others, wake-improving ducts, rudder bulbs and fins, highly optimized propellers, variable frequency drives, engine improvements, smooth coatings, with the requirement of using performance  optimizing software in the package.

Ursus coordinates with each chosen supplier for proper design, manufacturing, testing, and installation of all equipment, avoiding any delays to the vessels.

Ursus invests the full capital needed for the suite of technologies selected, which the ship owner, and in some cases also the charterer, pays back using portions of the fuel saved or the additional hire negotiated.

Ursus takes the full performance risk, and repayment is based on the actual performance. Performance improvements are verified using CFD model tests, sea trial comparison, and the performance monitoring software findings, to come up to a mutually agreeable improvement.
